Idea #157 – Diving at Aliwal Shoal in South Africa
Aliwal Shoal is a world-famous site of dive, in South Africa, which had the visit from commander Cousteau. The cliff is situated off Umkomaas, near Durban. At first, it is necessary to cross up a wave of surfing aboard a Zodiac ; the distribution of life jackets before the departure puts at once the mood of the famous “launch surfing” ! Once on the open sea, directly above Aliwal shoal, you will get into the water, sometimes in the middle of some sharks. During the dive, you can cross bull sharks, black tip sharks, cliffssharks, nurse sharks, sometimes tiger sharks, green turtles, huge groupers, and electric rays.
