Idea #600 – Swimming with the Breton gray seals in Morlaix
When the tidal coefficient allows it, do not hesitate to get a nautical ride on the archipelago of Trégor. On board of La Bretonne, valiant ship of the island of Batz converted into a diving boat, you will go to the islands of the Plateau de la Meline. Offshore, you will meet a dozen of gray seals, enjoying the nourishing waters of the Bay of Morlaix. With their 300 kg, these animals swallow every day considerable quantifies of algae and fish. As soon as the crew has spotted one of these curious residents, La Bretonne will anchor. With its shallow draft, it will approach gently rocks, respecting the environment of marine mammals. It is then up to you to play, to enjoy an exceptional ride in snorkeling, meeting gray seals. In fresh, plankton-rich water – the 7 mm combi will be welcome – you’ll quickly come across a spotted snout and curious little heads rising from the water. No need to try to follow them, they are sure to win!
