Idea #690 – Making a tour of Moorea Island
Moorea is an island located in the archipelago of the Leeward Islands, 17 km from Papeete and the island of Tahiti. This small volcanic island, with its tortured relief, offers some fantastic views, such as Belvedere, which embraces Cook’s Bay and Opunohu Bay. On the way to the Belvedere, a stop at the agricultural school will allow you to buy the Tiare jam or vanilla, and start the pineapple trail, in the middle of the plantations.
Inebriated by the smells – the video can not make this wonder – you can also join a path that leads to a huge Polynesian worship complex. The road is also punctuated by beaches with turquoise waters, or religious buildings like the beautiful Church of the Holy Family in Haapiti. For the more intrepid, you can also try to climb one of the 8 vertiginous peaks that count the island, accompanied by a guide.
