Idea # 96 – Visit of Marie-Galante and its distilleries
Marie-Galante, also known as the “Island of a hundred windmills” is an island in the Caribbean, still fairly open to tourism. From the XVII e century, farmers have made the sugarcane a very important source of income ; face to the competition from beet sugar, sweets were gradually replaced by distilleries, reduced to three today. The white rum agricultural has a name AOC. Taste it !
