Idea #761 – Rafting down the Trishuli River in Nepal
The Trishuli River originates in Tibet, where it is referred to as Kirong Tsangp. It mixes with other rivers like Bheri River, Marsyangdi River and Seti River along its course.
The configuration of the river allows a rafting descent sometimes considered as one of the best courses in the world. The descent alternates between wide, easily navigable passages and the crossing of difficult rapids such as Twin Rock, Snail’s nose, Teendevi, Malekhu rapid, Monkey rapid, Upset, Surprise, Monsoon, Cotton Pony, Ladies Delight, S-Bend, Highway, Monsoon and Pinball Rapid… The names speak for themselves!
The surrounding landscapes show quite remarkable geological formations, rice terraces and impressive gorges. During the monsoon period, the large water flows make the descent all the more complex and adventurous.
