Idea # 210 – Visiting the Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower is the symbol of Paris. 324 meters high, it was built by Gustave Eiffel for the World Fair of Paris of 1889 and was initially appointed ” 300 meter tower “. It is the second most visited paying French cultural site, with 7,1 million visitors in 2011. It welcomed its 250 millionth visitor in 2010.
With 312 meter in height originally, the Eiffel Tower remained the the highest monument of the world during 41 years. The second level of the third floor, the sometimes fourth conscript stages, situated in 279,11 m, is the highest platform of open to the public observation of the highest and European Union of Europe. The height of the tower was several time increased by the installation of numerous antennas. Used in past for numerous scientific experiments, it serves as transmitter of radio and broadcast programs today. To rise there, two ways are possible: the elevator, and the staircase with more than 1665 walking to reach the summit (but only 1000 first ones accessible to the general public). Go, we warm up!
